Despite my mixed feelings about Twitter I am always receptive when one of my partners brings in a new method for revenue generation. We have been working on the NascarView project for several months now and one seemingly effective methods for placing some Google Adsense ads has been HootSuite.
We’ve allowed you to insert your own ads into your ow.ly-shortened links. You do this by pasting in AdSense code for a 234 x 60 Half-Banner ad. These ads will be seen after an ow.ly link is clicked, and not before. Ads are housed in a discreet bar at the top of the page, which can be closed at any point with a single click.
Although we haven’t yet generated the vloume of traffic needed to retire to the Rocky Mountains and ski my remaining days away, we have noted a appreciable decrease in our adsense totals during light Twittering days.
If you have developed a pretty good following on Twitter I would definitely check HootSuite out. They also provide some pretty nice features like the ability to manage multiple Twitter feeds and a drag and drop Hootlet that allows you to easily “Hoot” out the page that you are viewing.
