It is amazing how many great resources can be found in the MODx forums. There are so many in fact that they have a tendency to get a little lost in all the activity, especially for someone new to MODx. So, from time to time I try and post on tools I come across in the forums. Some of my previous posts highlighting forum finds include A MODx Calendar & Pilot Group, Interesting MODx Tools, EditArea Plugin, Filefinder Snippet and my last post MODx Tip: Parse Time and Source.
My latest discovery is the Template Rules Plugin by cipa. Until coming across this plugin I have always relied on the template being inherited from the parent document. This approach has worked pretty well, but does sometimes require that I create an additional (and somewhat confusing) container since the parent often requires it’s own, separate template. It will be nice to control this more directly with this plugin.
